5. FDA Compliance

OneBella™ follows FDA guidelines for mobile medical applications. Our platform is classified as a wellness device that provides information and tools for diabetes management but does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

6. Age Restrictions

Children 5–12 (Kid Mode): May use the service with verified parental consent — COPPA compliant. Community, location, and messaging features are blocked at the backend for this age group.
Teens 13–17 (Teen Mode): May use the service with parental consent. Age-appropriate content controls and community restrictions apply.
Adults 18+ (Adult Mode): Full platform access. May also serve as a parent/guardian for linked child accounts.
Children under 5: Not permitted to use the service.

7. Data Security Standards

OneBella™ implements medical-grade security standards:

HIPAA Guidelines: Following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act guidelines for protected health information
COPPA Compliance: Full compliance with Children's Online Privacy Protection Act for users under 13 — verified parental consent required
AES-256 Encryption: Military-grade encryption for all health data at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit
Firebase Authentication: Every endpoint requires verified token authentication — no anonymous access to health data
HIPAA Audit Logging: All protected health information reads and writes are logged for compliance

OneBella™ integrates with third-party devices and services for enhanced functionality, including but not limited to:

Garmin™: Fitness and wellness data integration. Garmin is a trademark of Garmin Ltd. OneBella LLC is not affiliated with or endorsed by Garmin Ltd.
OpenAI: Powers the Bella AI assistant. AI responses are generated by machine learning models and may contain inaccuracies.

OneBella LLC does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or continuous availability of any third-party device data. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, terms, or content of third-party services. Please review their terms and privacy policies separately.

9. Community and User-Generated Content

OneBella™ includes community features (T1 Nearby™, community posts, direct messaging). OneBella LLC:

Does not verify the accuracy of information shared by users
Does not endorse any medical advice, recommendations, or information shared by users
Reserves the right to remove any content or suspend any account that violates our Terms of Service
Restricts community, messaging, and location features for children under 13 in compliance with COPPA

10. No Emergency Use

OneBella™ is not an emergency response system. In any medical emergency — including severe hypoglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), loss of consciousness, or any life-threatening situation — call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Do not rely on OneBella™ for emergency alerts or medical intervention.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OneBella LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

12. Governing Law

These legal notices are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maine, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
